Women of Crypto (WOC) is a 3D avatar NFT collection consisting of 8888 women. The women have 111 unique characteristics, backgrounds, physical traits, and accessories.
All 8888 NFTs in the Women of Crypto collection sold out during the first day of release. Amy Matsushima – WOC founder – says the collection received 50,000 clicks per minute before selling out.
Women of Crypto Launch
The WOC website crashed because of all the traffic. Celebrities – such as Paris Hilton and rapper Ja Rule – helped the collection gain attention by providing positive feedback. The WOC website recovered from the crash, and all the NFTs were sold.
The WOC project is the first in an ongoing larger project led by women in crypto. The project’s goal is to encourage women to enter the fields of cryptocurrency and business. The project also aims to educate more women about NFTs and related subjects.
Two non-profit organizations – Women Who Code and Crypto Chicks – are involved with the WOC project. The WOC project has also donated more than $100,000 to the two organizations.
Women of Crypto Educational Goals
The WOC project has created a series of video courses. The courses provide in-depth explanations on subjects such as blockchain technology, the Metaverse, and NFTs.
The project also provides an in-depth blueprint on how to start an NFT project. The blueprint – a step-by-step guide – shows all the steps in creating a successful NFT project.
WOC plans to offer the courses via a private Discord channel. Members will have to join the channel in order to access the courses.
Women of Crypto Community
Matsushima wants to create an entire community around the WOC project. The goal is to create an atmosphere in which women can learn, connect, and grow together.
NFT holders get free access to WOC conventions. These conventions will provide an opportunity for members to network. They will also interact with experts in the fields of investing, real estate, e-commerce, and more. The first convention is slated to occur in Los Angeles in April of 2022.
Additional WOC plans include collaborating with popular beauty brands to develop products. Women spend a lot of money on beauty products each year. And it’s hoped that relating beauty products to the crypto scene will get more women interested.
Men of Crypto NFT
Holders of WOC NFTs will soon have access to a Men of Crypto (MOC) NFT. Unlike the WOC NFTS, the MOC NFTs are free.
The MOC NFTs – which are available as of March 2022 – feature 3D avatars similar in style to the WOC NFTs. The only way to receive a MOC NFT is to receive it via airdrop from the WOC project.
The Future of Women in the World of Crypto
Women are underrepresented in the world of crypto. But the WOC project is working to change that by empowering and educating women.
Matsushima believes that the world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies should include everyone. And that the changes happening in finance and technology can change women’s lives.
